When it comes to a regular cocktail, I like them bitter and/or sour – it’s not often I will go for the sweet option. But when it comes dessert cocktails, I throw that rule out of the window and I fall in love with the sweet deliciousness! This Mini Egg Chocolate Martini is no different, it’s having your dessert and drinking it too (that’s how that old adage goes, right?!).
Whatever Easter means to you, it’s always a lovely holiday to spend with friends and family over indulging in delicious foods – with a particular focus on chocolate of course! Cadbury Mini Eggs are one of my all-time favourite Easter chocolates, I don’t know what they put in them to make them so ridiculously moreish, but once I open a packet they’re gone in a flash, you just can’t stop at 1! So, when deciding what fun Easter treat to make this year, Mini Eggs were an obvious choice! And we all know how much I love my cocktails – so the Mini Egg Chocolate Martini was born!
The Mini Egg Chocolate Martini is so quick and easy to make, you just blend everything together and you’re done. First, I popped down to Tesco to grab my Cadbury Mini Egg supplies, and there’s never a shortage of Mini Egg choices on the Easter aisle, so I grabbed a family sized bag and then a regular bag – for the cook’s treat of course!
As well as the Cadbury Mini Eggs and alcohol, you’ll also need some almond milk and some milk chocolate for this Mini Egg Chocolate Martini. The milk chocolate is melted, then you dip your martini glasses in the melted chocolate, ready to roll in crushed Mini Eggs – this delicious, chocolatey rim really takes this Mini Egg Chocolate Martini to the next level. I use almond milk in this chocolate martini recipe, but you can use your favourite type of milk if you don’t like almond. The boozy elements in this Mini Egg Chocolate Martini are Irish cream, hazelnut liqueur, crème de cacao, and chocolate bitters. Sounding pretty damn delicious right?
Now, I am of course not suggesting you should pass up on all the chocolate treats that Easter has to offer, but I’m willing to bet you’ll be more than happy to swap a nibble of an Easter Egg for a Mini Egg Chocolate Martini or two! Because if you can’t indulge in chocolate at Easter, when can you?! Let’s get mixing!

Ingredients
For the rim:
- 2oz (55g) milk chocolate

For the cocktail:
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate in a shallow bowl
- Crush the mini eggs to a large breadcrumb size (best way is to put them in an unsealed ziplock bag and hit with a rolling pin. Transfer to plate.
- Dip the rip of your martini glasses into the melted chocolate, ensuring the edges are well covered. Then roll in the crushed mini eggs. Set aside.
- Put all of your cocktail ingredients in a blender, and blend until mini eggs are completely blended (the more powerful your blender, the quicker this will be – I used my Vitamix and it took about 30 seconds)
- Pour into your glasses, serve immediately.
Notes
You could also use hazelnut milk, soy milk, or dairy milk in place of almond milk
