How to tie a square lashing – Jack Raven Bushcraft

Generally when I’m out practicing bushcraft I try to avoid using cordage if possible.  So for example, I’ll build a shelter using a few simpe design principles and negate the need for string.

But there are times when you do need to use cordage.  An example here might be to make a platform to keep you off the ground.  And that’s where a square lashing is likely to come in useful.
