Calling all Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) representatives…

The Essex Chambers of Commerce have been selected by the Department for Education as the lead Employer Representative Body (ERB) to deliver the county’s Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).
A LSIP is a government-funded programme designed to bring together businesses, local stakeholders, including VCFSE and education providers to discuss the skills needed now and for the future.

A skills event for VCFSE representatives will be taking place on
Tuesday 28th February, 10am – 12pm, followed by Lunch and Networking.

Registration open from 9.30am.

This is a collaborative event between Thurrock CVS, Thurrock Adult Community College and Essex Chambers of Commerce.

Come and have your say on what skills, training and programmes are needed to boost the hiring and retention of staff and volunteers in our sector.

The event will also provide an opportunity to learn about the Multiply Community Grants that will be launched in March 2023 which is funded by the Department for Education’s Multiply programme.

Thurrock has set aside £50,000 for Community Grants to support adults to improve their numeracy skills.  Thurrock Adult Community College is managing the project.

The event will help to create a long-term approach to involving employers and local VCFSE organisations in skills provision and successfully support employers and local skills providers to work together.
